Incase anyone was curious coming across this searching the answer is:
In teh server module:
proc evnt:init_server {type} {
global botnick
putquick "MODE $botnick +ih-ws"
}
(h is added in there, rest is in by default i think, not sure cos its years since i've seen a default. hehe)
